Hyatt and Marriott expand luxury hotel presence in Mexico

Major hotel chains are significantly expanding their luxury and all-inclusive footprints across Mexico and the Americas.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation is accelerating its luxury portfolio growth, with a heavy focus on Mexico. Key developments include the Park Hyatt Riviera Maya, which is set to become the brand’s first all-inclusive property globally, and the Park Hyatt Mexico City Polanco scheduled for 2027. Other expansions include the Alila brand in the Riviera Maya and Grand Hyatt openings in the Grand Cayman, Cancun, and Los Cabos by late 2026. Additionally, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt is growing in Canada and Mexico.

Hilton is also pivoting toward the all-inclusive luxury segment in Mexico. The company announced that the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya will transition to an adults-only all-inclusive experience by January 2027, while the Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya will offer a dedicated adults-only section.

Marriott International has reached a milestone of 300 properties in Mexico following the opening of the Courtyard by Marriott Torreón. Mexico serves as Marriott’s largest market in the Caribbean and Latin America region. The company maintains a robust pipeline of 76 hotels in development within the country, driven largely by brand conversions and new resort developments.
