Hybrid vehicle market trends in Brazil: Toyota and Omoda

The Brazilian automotive market is seeing shifts in the hybrid and electrified vehicle segments. Used Toyota Prius models remain a popular entry point for consumers seeking fuel efficiency. Specifically, third-generation models (2013–2015) are available on the used market starting at approximately R$ 45,900. These vehicles feature a 1.8-liter gasoline engine paired with an electric motor, producing a combined 134 cv.

In the new vehicle segment, the Omoda 7 PHEV has entered the Brazilian market as a plug-in hybrid SUV. Launched as part of Chery’s expansion strategy through its various sub-brands, the model aims to compete with established electrified vehicle manufacturers such as BYD and GWM. The Omoda 7 PHEV emphasizes high-tech features, including a dynamic multimedia center and modern LED lighting, targeting consumers interested in technological innovation and SUV design.
