Hyderabad Economic Forum 2026 showcases Telangana's Bharat Future City plan

The inaugural Hyderabad Economic Forum (HEF) 2026 was held at SAS iTower in Khajaguda, gathering over 500 business leaders, policymakers, investors and academics. The event, themed “One City. One Vision. Infinite Possibilities,” highlighted Hyderabad’s ambition to become India’s innovation capital. IT Minister Sridhar Babu outlined state initiatives such as the AIKAM platform, the Telangana Data Exchange, a ₹1,000‑crore Fund of Funds for startups, an AI University, a Skill University, 100 advanced ITIs and an AI‑litreacy mission targeting nearly 2 million government school students.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced the development of the 30,000‑acre Bharat Future City, a smart‑city project that will include a 15,000‑acre forested zone and attract global investment. He pledged to address opposition challenges, clean the Musi River, reclaim encroached water bodies and ensure the new city supports sectors beyond pharmaceuticals. The combined announcements aim to position Hyderabad as a global hub for technology, real‑estate and sustainable urban development.
