Hyderabad food safety raids uncover violations at sweet shop and restaurants

Hyderabad police’s H‑FAST team, together with a food‑safety officer, raided the Twinkal Star Sweet House on Kishan Bagh X Road. Inspectors found staff working without hair nets, gloves or aprons, food stored directly on the floor, lack of pest‑control records, missing medical fitness certificates and no displayed FSSAI licence. The case was handed to the Food Safety Officer for legal action.

Other establishments inspected by the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation faced similar findings. Platform 65 in Kukatpally was cited for rats, clogged drains and stale food, prompting a recommendation to suspend its FSSAI licence; the owners temporarily closed, repainted, installed separate veg‑non‑veg freezers and trained staff. Bahar Cafe in Madeenaguda claimed smoke from fire‑wood cooking created a bad impression, but resumed operations after showing the officer improvements. The raids have spurred public calls for reporting hygiene breaches.
