On August 4, H‑FAST seized about 25 tonnes of spices contaminated with industrial dyes, fabric colours, talc and rice‑bran oil across 13 establishments, arrested three suspects and invoked Section 110 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, treating the adulteration as an attempt at culpable homicide. Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar noted that in the first 140 days H‑FAST conducted 659 raids, filed 202 FIRs and seized nearly 246 tonnes of adulterated food, underscoring an expanding effort to curb food adulteration and fraud across India.
