Hyderabad, India braces for moderate monsoon rains and waterfall safety alerts

Meteorologists forecast moderate to heavy rain across Hyderabad and north Telangana through early July, with north districts expected to receive 50‑120 mm of rainfall. Residents are advised to avoid water‑logged areas and plan travel accordingly.

At the same time, the monsoon has attracted large crowds to waterfalls in the region. Officials warned that many sites remain hazardous during heavy rain, citing past drownings and the presence of wild animals. Access to popular waterfalls such as Bogatha and Bheemuni is restricted, and visitors are urged to follow safety guidelines, avoid prohibited areas, and refrain from risky behavior like taking selfies near deep water.
