Hyderabad infrastructure projects advance with corridor and metro updates
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is accelerating construction on a proposed elevated corridor stretching from Jubilee Hills Check Post to NFCIL Junction. The project aims to reduce traffic congestion and enable signal-free travel around KBR Park. GHMC Commissioner R. V. Karnan has ordered officials to expedite geotechnical investigations, foundation excavation, and steel fabrication, while coordinating with the Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited to shift necessary electrical utilities.
In a separate development, two consortiums have submitted bids for the General Consultant contract for Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-2, Package-1. The contract covers 63 km across four corridors: Nagole to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Raidurg to Kokapet Neopolis, MGBS to Chandrayangutta, and LB Nagar to Hayathnagar. The selected consultant will provide technical and project management support, including design review, construction supervision, and systems integration, over a four-year period. The state government is expected to finalize the selection in early November.
