A 27-year-old postgraduate medical student, identified as Komati Srijana, was found dead in a service apartment in the Miyapur area of Hyderabad. The victim, a paediatrician who had been studying in Hanamkonda, was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition on a bed.

Police launched a murder investigation after the victim's father, K. Bhumayya, filed a complaint. Investigators believe the victim had traveled to Hyderabad to meet a male friend to discuss a dispute involving a gold chain. The man, whom the victim had known since her undergraduate studies, reportedly checked out of the hotel on October 1 and has since gone missing.

While preliminary examinations showed no obvious external injuries, the body has been sent to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage and other evidence to trace the missing man and establish the sequence of events.
