Hyderabad police bust cockfighting and gambling racket in Manneguda

Police in Hyderabad have dismantled an organized cockfighting and gambling ring in the Manneguda area. The operation, conducted by the Shamshabad Zone Task Force and Adibatla Police, resulted in the arrest of 22 individuals.

The raid targeted a gambling den located behind the RTO Office, which operated out of an old poultry farm used to rear roosters specifically for fighting. Organizers reportedly invited gamblers from Andhra Pradesh and other regions, providing meals and specialized betting arrangements for cockfights and card games.

Authorities seized property and assets valued at approximately Rs 35 lakh. The seizure included Rs 3,60,510 in cash, 20 smartphones, 31 live betting roosters worth roughly Rs 9.3 lakh, 146 cockfighting knives, a scorebook, and several high-end vehicles and two-wheelers. While 22 people were apprehended, the main organizer and landowner remain at large.
