Illegal gambling raids in Hyderabad

In mid-August, Goshamahal police raided a residence in Begum Bazar, arresting 10 individuals involved in an illegal card game. Authorities seized approximately ₹1.18 lakh in cash, playing cards, casino-style tokens, and hookah-related materials. The operation targeted facilitators who had reportedly locked the premises to conduct high-stakes games in secret.

In early September, the Shamshabad Zone Task Force and Adibatla Police dismantled an organized cockfighting and gambling ring in Manneguda. This operation targeted a den located in an old poultry farm where organizers hosted gamblers from various regions for cockfights and card games. The raid resulted in 22 arrests and the seizure of assets valued at approximately Rs 35 lakh, including cash, smartphones, live betting roosters, and cockfighting knives. While several individuals were apprehended, the primary organizer and landowner remain at large.
