Hytale to release Chapter 1 update on October 12, 2026

Hypixel Studios has announced that the Chapter 1 update for the sandbox game Hytale is scheduled for release on October 12, 2026. This major update follows the game's early access launch in January 2026, which occurred after the studio regained the rights to the project from Riot Games.

Chapter 1 will introduce the game's first handcrafted dungeon, an underground goblin cave, and its first multi-phase boss fight against a mechanical goblin equipped with a flamethrower. The update also features “Goblin Breaches,” which are temporary world events that open portals to distant biomes containing loot. New player equipment, including rocket boots, gliders, drills, and a hookshot, will also be added.

A new tool called the “Encounter Manager” will be implemented, allowing both developers and players to design custom combat encounters and boss fights. To promote the update, Hypixel founder Simon Collins-Laflamme has offered a $15,000 prize to the first player to defeat the new boss in hardcore mode without teammate assistance.
