Hytale Chapter 1 content update release

Hypixel Studios announced that the Chapter 1 update for the sandbox game Hytale was scheduled for release on October 12, 2026. This update followed the game’s early access launch in January 2026, after the studio regained project rights from Riot Games.

Planned features included a handcrafted goblin cave dungeon, a multi-phase boss fight, and “Goblin Breaches” world events. The update was also expected to introduce new equipment such as rocket boots, gliders, drills, and a hookshot, alongside an “Encounter Manager” tool for designing custom combat. To promote the launch, founder Simon Collins-Laflamme offered a $15,000 prize for the first player to defeat the new boss in hardcore mode solo.

On October 11, 2026, the update, titled ‘Chapter I: Out of the Breach’, was released. It introduced a “Chapter” system to provide structured RPG objectives and a new goblin faction. Players gained access to hand-crafted dungeons like the Goblin Lab and new biomes such as ‘The Guttering Hollows’. Gameplay expansions included a magic system using Runestones, various utility gadgets, and ‘Shuffle Jam’, a collection of 12 mini-games.
