Hyrox expands global race calendar, targeting over 2 million athletes

Hyrox announced an expanded 2026/27 race calendar that will cover 107 race weekends on six continents, adding new host cities such as San Diego and Portland in the United States, Bari in Italy, and Nagoya in Japan. Several events will be extended from the usual one‑ or two‑day format to residencies of up to ten days to accommodate record demand in its biggest markets. The company said more than 1.5 million athletes took part in the 2025/26 season and expects participation to exceed two million this year, with the season culminating at the Hyrox World Championships in Hong Kong in June 2027.

The growth reflects a broader shift in the fitness industry toward measurable performance. Hyrox now has about 5,000 affiliates worldwide and roughly 1,200 official training clubs in the United States. The competition’s repeatable, indoor‑friendly format is being used by gyms to build member communities and drive ancillary revenue, positioning Hyrox as a leading driver of the fitness‑racing trend.
