HYROX fitness racing sees new training insights and PUMA gear launch

HYROX, a hybrid fitness competition combining running with functional workout stations, is seeing increased attention regarding both athlete preparation and specialized equipment.

Training for the event requires a focus on building a running engine through aerobic and interval sessions, as running constitutes half of the race. Athletes are encouraged to practice specific functional movements—such as sledge pushes, rowing, and wall balls—under fatigue to simulate race conditions. Mastering technique and efficient transitions between running and stations is also critical for energy conservation and injury prevention.

To support the growing community of competitors, PUMA has launched a dedicated PUMA x HYROX collection. The range includes footwear engineered for the sport's unique demands, such as the Deviate NITRO Elite 4, a carbon-plated racing shoe featuring nitrogen-injected foam and specialized rubber outsoles for multi-surface traction. The collection aims to provide support for various skill levels, from entry-level athletes to elite competitors.
