Hyundai begins IONIQ 3 production at Izmit plant in Turkey

Hyundai Motor Türkiye has officially launched production of the IONIQ 3 at its Izmit plant. This milestone is part of the company’s broader electrification strategy and its efforts to strengthen its manufacturing presence in Europe.

The production launch follows a 250 million euro investment aimed at enabling electric vehicle manufacturing in Turkey. Over the last two years, more than 50% of the Izmit facility has been modernized to accommodate Hyundai’s latest generation of electrified vehicles. This move reinforces Turkey’s role as a key automotive production hub for the European market.

In addition to the IONIQ 3, preparations are underway for future generations of the BAYON and i20 models. Furthermore, in collaboration with Hyundai Mobis, a new battery system assembly plant has been added to the Izmit site to support future hybrid vehicle battery assembly.
