Hyundai EV lineup expands: Ioniq 5, 6 N, 9, 3, and V
Overview
Hyundai continues to expand its electric-vehicle portfolio through software integration, specialized utility models, and regional production scaling. The company recently introduced a major interior overhaul for the Ioniq 5, replacing dual displays with a single 17–18 inch vertical central screen and moving most information to a head-up display. This update utilizes the Android-based Pleos Connect operating system as part of a broader transition toward software-defined vehicles.
In the utility and regional segments, Hyundai unveiled an Ioniq 9 variant designed for agricultural use, featuring 428 hp, a 2,500 kg towing capacity, and a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) outlet. For the Chinese market, the company is launching the Ioniq V, an electric fastback featuring a 27-inch 4K panoramic display and L2+ intelligent driving technology. High-performance offerings include the Ioniq 6 N, which produces up to 478 kW via the ‘N Grin Boost’ function, and an N-Line package for the Ioniq 6.
Regional production has reached a milestone with the official commencement of mass production for the sub-compact Ioniq 3 at the İzmit facility in Türkiye. Following a €250 million investment to modernize over half the facility, the plant supports the Ioniq 3 and is preparing for future generations of the BAYON and i20 models. A new battery system assembly plant, established in collaboration with Hyundai Mobis, has also been added to the site to support future hybrid vehicle battery assembly.
In Europe, Hyundai has opened pre-orders for the Ioniq 3, which offers battery options providing ranges between 344 and 497 kilometers. The company aims to sell over 40,000 units in Europe by 2027, positioning the model to compete in the B-segment against vehicles like the Renault 5 and Volkswagen’s upcoming ID. Polo.
