Hyundai expands Ioniq EV lineup with new models, trims and price cuts

Hyundai unveiled several updates to its Ioniq electric‑vehicle family. The Model Year 2027 Ioniq 5 arrives with a revised trim structure (XTech, Business, XClass), larger battery options (63 kWh or 84 kWh), an 800‑volt platform, and new safety tech such as an In‑Cabin Camera and 5G‑enabled eCall. A European‑market Ioniq 3 hatchback was listed, featuring a 0.263 Cd drag coefficient, 42.2 kWh or 61 kWh batteries delivering up to 496 km WLTP range, and interior upgrades like a 14.6‑inch Android infotainment screen and Bose sound system.

Pricing for the 2026 Ioniq 5 was cut by an average of $9,155, with the base SE Standard‑Range starting at $35,000 before destination; the model still sells slightly above MSRP in dealer transactions. A discounted Ioniq 5 N variant offers a $6,300 price reduction, adds a NACS charging port, and retains its high‑performance output of 641 hp.

The premium Ioniq 9 Blackline trim was introduced in Germany at €89,950, equipped with a 315 kW (428 hp) all‑wheel‑drive powertrain, a 110 kWh battery giving a WLTP range of about 600 km, and exclusive black exterior styling. A U.S. review of the 2026 Ioniq 5 Limited AWD noted a base price of $48,975, features such as a Bose audio system, head‑up display, and a Tesla‑compatible NACS port, and reported a real‑world range of roughly 269 mi with AWD.
