Hyundai expands Staria lineup with hybrid and electric models

Hyundai is expanding the powertrain options for its Staria commercial vehicle lineup, introducing hybrid and electric models to various markets.

In Taiwan, Nanyang Industrial has announced the addition of a 1.6T turbo hybrid powertrain to the Staria range, complementing the existing diesel models. The new hybrid version offers a combined maximum power of 245ps and is designed to meet urban emission standards more easily. Pre-orders for the Staria series in Taiwan began on September 14, with prices for the hybrid models starting at 1.79 million TWD. The updated lineup also features technological upgrades, including a 12.3-inch multimedia system and enhanced safety features like Rear View Monitor (RVM) guidance.

In the Australian market, the Hyundai Staria Load is also seeing electrification. An electric version has been introduced, featuring an 800V electrical architecture and heat pump technology. While the electric model offers a 2,000kg braked towing capacity, it sits at a higher price point than the diesel and hybrid variants. The Staria Load range now includes diesel, hybrid, and electric drivetrains, with updated interior technology such as over-the-air software update capabilities and a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
