Hyundai India Couture Week 2026 opens in New Delhi with Rohit Bal and Falguni Shane Peacock collections

The Hyundai India Couture Week 2026 opened on July 25 at the Taj Palace in New Delhi, highlighting Indian craftsmanship. Designer Rohit Bal presented his collection "DASTKAR," a tribute to the artisans—embroiderers, weavers, dyers, pattern makers and karigars—who have collaborated with his house for more than three decades. The show incorporated French tapestries, vintage wallpapers, silks, velvets and extensive hand‑embroidery.

In the same event, designer Falguni Shane Peacock launched "Le Grand Voyage," a collection inspired by European and Indian architecture, including Byzantine mosaics, Belle Époque Paris, Bavarian palaces and the Taj Mahal. The runway featured hand‑beaded jackets, embroidered sherwanis, corsetry and capes, created in partnership with Kohler, which supplied colour and finish references such as Brushed Rose Gold and French Gold.

The week, organized by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), underscored the blend of traditional Indian handwork with contemporary design narratives.
