Hyundai launches Ioniq 3 electric hatchback produced in Turkey
Hyundai has officially launched the Ioniq 3, a new electric hatchback manufactured at its Izmit plant in Turkey. Built on the K3 platform with a 400-volt architecture, the model is positioned as a key pillar for the European electric vehicle market.
Production at the Izmit facility, which received a 250 million euro investment, is expected to reach approximately 27,000 units by the end of the year. Of this volume, 3,500 units are designated for the Turkish market, while 23,000 are intended for export. Hyundai aims to increase export targets to 40,000 units by 2027.
The Ioniq 3 is available in four trim levels: Select, Trend, Prime, and N-Line Evo. It offers two battery options—42.2 kWh and 61 kWh—providing a driving range between 344 km and 497 km. The vehicle supports DC fast charging, capable of reaching 10% to 80% capacity in approximately 29 to 30 minutes.
In the Turkish market, the Ioniq 3 enters a competitive landscape. With starting prices around 1.799 million TL, it ranks as the fifth most affordable electric vehicle in the country, positioned just behind the Kia EV2 and ahead of the Togg T10F sedan.
