Hyundai Ioniq 3 EV to debut in Europe in 2026
South Korean automaker Hyundai unveiled plans for the Ioniq 3, a compact electric hatchback aimed at the European market. The model will complement the larger Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6, targeting customers who want a smaller, city‑friendly EV with a practical range.
The Ioniq 3 is expected to offer roughly 400 km of WLTP‑based range, with battery sizes that balance weight and price. Fast‑charging capability is designed to replenish a significant portion of the battery in under thirty minutes. Hyundai intends to price the vehicle near €30,000, positioning it against established European compact EVs.
Production will take place at Hyundai’s plant in İzmit, Turkey, with first deliveries to European dealers slated for the third quarter of 2026. The launch seeks to strengthen Hyundai’s electric portfolio and capture market share in the rapidly growing compact EV segment.
