Hyundai Ioniq 6 N posts 7:35 Nürburgring lap, rivaling supercars
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N electric sedan recorded a lap time of 7 minutes 35.42 seconds on the 20.8‑km Nordschleife circuit at the Nürburgring, according to test driver Christian Gebhard. The result places the family‑oriented sedan alongside established performance models, beating the Lexus LFA and posting times close to the Nissan GT‑R, Porsche 911 Carrera S, BMW M4 and Chevrolet Corvette C8.
Powered by a dual‑motor, all‑wheel‑drive setup, the Ioniq 6 N delivers 641 hp (650 hp in N Grin Boost mode) and 770 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0‑100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reaching a top speed of 257 km/h. It houses an 84 kWh, 800 V battery giving a WLTP range of up to 487 km and can charge from 10 % to 80 % in roughly 18 minutes on a fast charger. Hyundai says the performance demonstrates the growing capability of electric vehicles and signals further expansion of its N‑brand, including new N models for both electric and conventional powertrains.
