Hyundai launches Bayon SUV in India

Hyundai Motor India has officially launched the Bayon, a new mid-size SUV positioned between the Venue and Creta models. The vehicle enters the market with an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹9.99 lakh. The SUV is available in seven different variants, ranging from the entry-level HX2 to the top-spec HX10, with options for both six-speed manual and iVT automatic transmissions.

The Bayon features advanced technology, most notably as the first Hyundai SUV in India to include a generative AI voice assistant powered by Perplexity and SoundHound AI. The interior is equipped with dual 12.3-inch curved panoramic displays supported by NVIDIA hardware. Safety features include Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 Pro ADAS, six airbags, and electronic stability control.

Under the hood, the Bayon is powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder MPi petrol engine producing 115 PS and 143.8 Nm of torque. Hyundai has also announced plans to introduce a CNG variant in January 2027. The vehicle is manufactured locally in India and is intended for export to more than 50 global markets.
