Hyundai launches Ioniq 3 electric hatch for Europe

Hyundai unveiled the Ioniq 3, an affordable all‑electric hatchback built at its İzmit plant in Turkey for the European market. The model replaces the earlier N‑Line‑only concept with a regular‑styled version featuring an “Aero Hatch” design, up to 500 km WLTP range and two battery options (42.2 kWh and 61 kWh).

The Ioniq 3 is the first Hyundai EV in Europe equipped with the new Pleos Connect infotainment system, running on Android Automotive OS and offering 12.9‑ or 14.6‑inch touchscreens plus a driver‑focused slim display. An AI companion, Gleo, provides voice‑activated navigation and information services. Prices are expected to start around €30,000 in Europe, with the N‑Line trim roughly €10,000 higher.

Hyundai indicated the vehicle will not be sold in the United States, citing production costs and market preferences, while the company continues to offer the larger Ioniq 5 and plans to introduce the Kia EV3 SUV in the U.S. later this year.
