Hyundai launches new hydrogen Nexo SUV in Spain with Exolum partnership

Hyundai announced that the second‑generation Hyundai Nexo hydrogen fuel‑cell SUV is now for sale in Spain. The model is offered in two trims: the Tecno version at €71,000 and the Style version at €81,850. Improvements over the 2018 version include a power output of 205 hp, a high‑voltage battery of 2.64 kWh, and a WLTP‑tested range of 826 km, with 0‑100 km/h acceleration in 7.8 seconds and a towing capacity of up to 1,000 kg.

The launch was staged at Exolum’s hydrogen refuelling station in San Fernando de Henares, near Madrid, where Hyundai demonstrated a five‑minute refuelling process for the vehicle’s three 6.69‑kg tanks. Hyundai Motor Spain’s CEO Leopoldo Satrústegui and Exolum executives highlighted the collaboration between automakers and energy logistics firms to accelerate hydrogen’s role in the energy transition. The event gathered institutional representatives, energy companies, renting firms and media to discuss hydrogen as a sustainable mobility solution, especially for professional and commercial use where charging infrastructure remains limited.
