Hyundai launches updated Staria with new hybrid powertrain in Taiwan

Hyundai has officially launched the updated Staria in Taiwan, introducing a new 1.6T-GDi TMED turbo hybrid powertrain. This addition complements the existing 2.2L diesel engine option, providing a dual-power lineup to serve business, tourism, and family needs. Since pre-orders opened in September, the model has secured over 500 orders, with hybrid variants accounting for 80% of that volume.

The new hybrid system delivers a combined output of 225ps and 37.4kgm of torque. A key advantage of the hybrid model is its ability to operate without the restrictions faced by diesel vehicles in certain urban air quality control zones.

Technical and comfort upgrades include a 12.3-inch multimedia system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster for hybrid models, and Level 2 driver assistance systems on flagship trims. High-end configurations feature 7-seat layouts with Relaxion zero-gravity seats, Bose audio systems, and Nappa leather. Pricing for the new lineup starts at 1.648 million TWD.
