Hyundai prepares to launch Bayon SUV in India
Hyundai is preparing to launch the Bayon SUV in India, with an expected release around October 2026. The new model is designed to sit between the Venue and the Creta in the company’s SUV lineup.
Measuring approximately 4.18 meters in length, the Bayon is expected to be Hyundai’s first SUV in this specific segment to offer a CNG option. Potential powertrain configurations include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a 6-speed manual or CVT, and possibly a 1.2-litre turbo petrol variant. A diesel engine is considered unlikely.
The vehicle is expected to feature modern interior technology, including dual curved displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment system. Externally, the SUV may feature a split LED lighting setup and connected rear lighting. The estimated price range is between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 15 lakh, ex-showroom, positioning it to compete with models such as the Maruti Suzuki Victoris.
