Hyundai tests autonomous MobED robot aboard moving ship

Hyundai Motor Group has successfully demonstrated the MobED (Mobile Eccentric Droid), an autonomous self-driving robot, operating aboard the moving vessel Hyundai Dubai in South Korea. The trials were conducted in collaboration with Korean Register, HMM, HMM Ocean Service, and Goseong Engineering.

The tests aimed to prove that a robot designed for land-based environments could navigate the unique challenges of a maritime setting, including constant vibration, vessel motion, and uneven surfaces. The MobED utilizes
