Hyundai to launch new affordable high-performance car series
Hyundai has announced plans to introduce a new, more affordable series of high-performance vehicles designed for the mass market. This new tier will be positioned between the existing high-performance N models and the aesthetic-focused N Line equipment packages.
Revealed during the company’s Investor Day, the new series is described as a “volume high-performance tier.” While the specific name for the series has not yet been disclosed, the models will utilize powertrains and technology carried over from the full-blooded N models. The manufacturer has not specified whether these vehicles will feature internal combustion engines, electric drives, or a combination of both, though both types are expected.
The strategy mirrors the tiered approach used by German premium brands, such as Audi’s S models or BMW’s M Performance line. The first vehicle from this new middle-positioned series is expected to arrive by 2030.
