Hyundai unveils fifth-generation 2027 Tucson SUV
Hyundai Motor has unveiled the fifth generation of its Tucson SUV, featuring a redesigned exterior under the “Art of Steel” design philosophy. The new model emphasizes a more muscular appearance with advanced manufacturing techniques, such as multi-directional stretching control to manage steel sheet tension and prevent wrinkles or cracks during production.
The 2027 Tucson features increased dimensions, with the long-wheelbase version measuring 4,700 mm in length and offering improved interior space for passengers. Technological upgrades include a variety of display options, ranging from a 9.9-inch driver display to a 17-inch central touchscreen, along with new wireless charging capabilities and a column-mounted shift-by-wire selector.
Powertrain options include a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a new hybrid system. The hybrid variant utilizes a next-generation system with P1 and P2 motors, targeting improved fuel efficiency and a combined output of up to 245 PS. For off-road use, the Tucson XRT PRO variant provides all-wheel drive and increased ground clearance. Safety enhancements include an increased proportion of ultra-high-strength steel and a new power redundancy feature for door unlocking in the event of a collision.
