Hyundai Ioniq V electric fastback to launch in China
Hyundai, through its Beijing Hyundai joint venture with BAIC Group, is launching the Ioniq V, an electric fastback designed specifically for the Chinese market. Pre-orders for the model are scheduled to begin on August 21 at the Chengdu Auto Show, where official pricing will also be announced.
The Ioniq V features a distinctive design with a continuous line from the hood to the windshield and utilizes the E-GMP platform. It is equipped with an 800V architecture and CATL-produced LFP batteries. Two versions are expected: an entry-level model with a 53.5 kWh battery providing up to 540 km of range (CLTC), and a long-range version with a 66.8 kWh battery offering up to 650 km of range (CLTC).
Inside, the vehicle emphasizes digital integration, featuring a 27-inch 4K panoramic display, a Head-up Display, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip. Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are provided by Momenta, utilizing L2+ intelligent driving technology.
