Hyundai unveils next-generation Tucson SUV

Hyundai has unveiled the next-generation Tucson, featuring a bolder design and upgraded technology. Adopting the ‘Art of Steel’ design philosophy, the new SUV includes more muscular wheel arches, cleaner body surfaces, and new lighting signatures. The vehicle is larger than its predecessor, measuring 4,700mm in length, 1,905mm in width, and 1,685mm in height.

The interior has been significantly modernized with a driver display of 9.9 inches and a central touchscreen available in 12.9 or 17-inch sizes. The infotainment system, Pleos Connect, is based on Android Automotive and incorporates Gleo AI for conversational voice commands. While technology has increased, Hyundai has retained physical controls for essential functions like climate and audio.

Electrified powertrain options, including hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions, will be part of the international lineup. In South Africa, the new Tucson is expected to arrive in showrooms during the second half of 2027.
