Hyundai unveils redesigned 2027 Elantra at Busan show, US sales slated for early 2027

Hyundai revealed its eighth‑generation Elantra (known as the Avante in Korea) at the 2026 Busan International Mobility Show, marking the first full redesign since the 2021 model. The new compact sedan features the brand’s "Art of Steel" design language, a larger body (now 187.6 inches long, 73.0 inches wide, with a 108.3‑inch wheelbase), sharper exterior lines, flush door handles and new H‑shaped LED DRLs. Inside, a 12.9‑ or 14.6‑inch touchscreen runs Hyundai’s Pleos Connect infotainment system on Android Automotive OS, paired with a digital instrument cluster, generative‑AI assistant, ambient lighting and dual wireless charging. Hybrid powertrains receive a 1.6‑liter two‑motor setup delivering about 155 hp, up from the current 139 hp, and include Vehicle‑to‑Load capability.

Hyundai expects the redesigned Elantra to launch in the Korean market in late 2026, with the U.S. version arriving as a 2027 model. Pricing is anticipated to start above the current $24,000‑$31,000 range. Alongside the launch news, a 2025 Elantra with low mileage is listed for sale in Ottawa, Canada, featuring heated front seats, an 8‑inch display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, lane‑keeping assist, front‑collision mitigation and other safety technologies.
