The historic main building of the I. D. Sîrbu Dramatic Theatre in Petroșani has entered a rehabilitation phase. Following the successful energy and aesthetic renovation of the building housing the main hall—funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR)—the Hunedoara County Council has secured funding for the restoration of the theatre's older, primary structure.

Costel Avram, the public administrator of Hunedoara County, stated that the project aims to achieve both energetic and aesthetic improvements for the heritage building. The works are expected to be completed by the end of the current year, ensuring the entire architectural ensemble of the theatre receives a modernized appearance.
