IAEA reports inability to verify nuclear activities at several Iranian facilities

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has issued a report regarding its inability to conduct verification activities at several declared nuclear facilities in Iran. According to the report, no verification activities have been performed at any declared sites since February, with the exception of the Bushehr power plant.

The IAEA stated that since June 2025, it has lost the ability to track declared nuclear inventories at facilities that were targeted in military strikes. Satellite imagery reportedly shows damage to the heavy water facility in Khandab following an attack on March 27. Additionally, the agency noted regular vehicle activity at the entrance of a tunnel in Isfahan, which is used to store 60 percent enriched uranium.

The agency expressed uncertainty regarding the exact location and legal status of the Isfahan fuel enrichment facilities. The report further noted that Iran has not implemented the Additional Protocol and has not provided updated declarations since February 2021. The IAEA stated it remains ready to resume monitoring and verification activities as soon as the necessary authorizations are received.
