Iași airport upgrades and Palas mall revamp aim to boost regional hub
Iași International Airport is moving ahead with a modernization program. A design contract has been signed to reconfigure terminal T3 exclusively for departures, with arrivals to be shifted to terminal T4. Procurement for construction is expected to start this year, and work will be carried out while the airport remains operational. A separate contract will convert terminal T2 into a cargo facility, supporting a new freight division at the airport.
The Palas mixed‑use complex in Iași is being extensively remodelled by IULIUS. Around 40 new retailers, including Furla, Crocs, KIKO Milano and a two‑level Primark covering over 4,000 m², will join the centre. The Atrium will be expanded and linked to the Cultural Palace, and new indoor relaxation zones, an outdoor esplanade with green areas, an amphitheatre and additional parking will be created. The overhaul seeks to cement Palas as a regional destination for shopping, business and leisure, complementing the airport’s role as a transport hub.
