IATA announces 2026 Cargo Experts Conference in Budapest

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced that its 2026 Cargo Experts Conference (CEC) will be held in Budapest, Hungary, on September 23 and 24. Under the theme ‘From Expertise to Execution’, the event aims to improve daily air cargo operations through global standards, technology, and data.

The conference will focus on three specialized areas:

1. Digital Cargo: Promoting the adoption of the ONE Record program and implementing technologies such as APIs, artificial intelligence, and automation to improve visibility and data quality.

2. Safety and Security: Addressing emerging risks, including the safe handling of dangerous goods and the rise of undeclared lithium batteries, while strengthening risk assessment and oversight.

3. Pharma and Cargo Operations: Enhancing ground handling, resilience, and cold-chain operations through smarter compliance and real-time data to support pharmaceutical shipments.
