In the quarterfinals of Ibai Llanos’s ‘Mundial de Comidas 2026’, Peruvian ceviche is facing a challenge from Guatemalan chicken pepian. Recent voting data on TikTok shows Guatemala leading with approximately 53% of the votes, compared to 47% for Peru. This follows a previous round where Peru saw significant success, securing nearly 2.9 million votes against Honduras.

Additionally, streamer Ibai Llanos has unveiled a new bronze trophy for the competition, valued at 4,000 euros. The new design, featuring a globe with a chef's hat and kitchen utensils, replaces the previous improvised golden frying pan. Llanos announced he will send a replica of this new trophy to Peru to recognize their victory in the ‘Mundial de Desayunos’, addressing previous criticisms regarding the quality of the initial award.
