Ibai Llanos hosts ‘Mundial de Comidas’ quarter-finals

The ‘Mundial de Comidas’ (Food World Cup), organized by streamer Ibai Llanos, has entered its quarter-final stages with several national dishes competing for popularity.

In one matchup, Venezuela’s pabellón criollo—consisting of white rice, black beans, shredded beef, and fried plantains—is facing off against Colombia’s bandeja paisa, which features beans, rice, ground meat, chicharrón, chorizo, and fried egg.

In another contest, Ecuador’s encebollado, a fish-based soup made with albacore, cassava, and onions, is competing against Bolivia’s pique macho. Following previous criticisms regarding its preparation, the Ecuadorian dish was presented in a revised version. Early voting results showed the encebollado leading with 63% of the votes against Bolivia’s 37%.
