Iberdrola boosts Italy renewables and expands ultra‑fast EV charging network in Iberia

Iberdrola announced the acquisition of a 40 MW wind farm in Basilicata, Italy, bringing its total renewable generation capacity in the country to about 450 MW. The new asset joins the Etruria complex, a 174 MW solar portfolio, and the 243 MW Fenix solar project, underscoring Iberdrola’s commitment to long‑term contracts and stable cash flows in a regulated market.

Separately, the Iberdrola | bp pulse joint venture reported that its charging network in the Iberian Peninsula now exceeds 2 500 points, with roughly 70 % classified as ultra‑rapid (150–600 kW). The system includes more than 120 heavy‑vehicle chargers, among them Europe’s first megawatt‑charging system for trucks (>1 000 kW). The expansion aims to cut CO₂ emissions by over 15 000 tonnes by 2026 and to strengthen electric mobility in Spain and Portugal.
