Iberia Group boosts July capacity by 5% to over 3 million seats

Iberia Group, operating Iberia, Iberia Express and Air Nostrum, will run 16,945 flights in July, offering 3,021,958 seats – a 5% increase compared with the same month last year and 6.8% more flights than July 2023. The schedule includes 2,490 long‑haul, 7,939 medium‑haul and 6,512 short‑haul services, plus about 50 charter flights that mainly support cruise‑ship itineraries to ports such as Bari, Athens, Hamburg and Trieste.

Key European destinations with the highest demand are Barcelona, London, Paris, Rome, Athens and Lisbon, while the most requested routes to Latin America are Bogotá, Buenos Aires and Mexico City. The carrier also adds two new European destinations – Bucharest and Tivat – to its summer network.

Capacity growth is strongest in North America, with 1,280,254 seats offered, a 19.0% rise over last summer, and in Latin America, where seats rise 7.6% to 3,354,159. An additional roughly 800,000 seats are allocated to African and Asian routes. Iberia frames the expansion within its “Plan de Vuelo 2030” despite higher fuel costs.
