Iberia launches direct Madrid‑Toronto service and restores Madrid‑Doha flights

Iberia has opened a new nonstop route between Madrid and Toronto, operating five weekly flights with Airbus A321XLR aircraft. The inaugural service recorded a load factor above 95% and the airline expects to offer more than 37,000 seats during the summer season. The connection is part of Iberia’s Flight Plan 2030, which aims to expand its long‑haul network in North America and boost Madrid’s role as a hub between Europe and the Americas. The airline projects an economic impact of roughly €31 million in its first year.

In addition, Iberia is reinstating its Madrid‑Doha service after a four‑month suspension caused by the Middle‑East conflict. The restored schedule will start on 3 July with three weekly frequencies, also using A321XLR jets configured for 182 passengers. The airline may increase the number of flights if demand rises.
