Iberia launches new Madrid‑Toronto flight route with 34,576 seats this summer

Iberia began operating a new transatlantic service between Madrid and Toronto on Saturday, adding five weekly flights (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday). The schedule provides a total of 34,576 seats through the end of the summer season.

The route is served by the Airbus A321XLR, the aircraft model that Iberia helped introduce. The plane features the Airspace cabin with two classes—Business and Economy—and a 182‑seat configuration. The launch is part of IAG’s broader push into the North American market, complementing recent capacity increases to U.S. cities and other new routes in Latin America. It aligns with Iberia’s “Plan de Vuelo 2030” and contributes to a record summer offering of 21.4 million seats across its network.

Iberia said the expansion proceeds despite higher fuel prices linked to tensions in the Middle East; the airline confirmed no reductions or cancellations of its planned summer schedule.
