Ibero-American Cities Meeting to be held in Madrid
The II Ibero-American Cities Meeting will take place in Madrid, Spain, on October 19, organized by the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB) and the Union of Ibero-American Capital Cities (UCCI). The event serves as a precursor to the upcoming Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government.
Among the participants are Ulises Rodríguez, Mayor of Santiago de los Caballeros, and Bruno García, Mayor of Cádiz. Rodríguez aims to present his city's urban transformation and development processes. García is scheduled to participate in a panel focused on local economic development, employment, and alliances, where he will discuss the naval sector in Cádiz and the importance of the blue economy.
The forum seeks to address urban challenges, promote sustainable development, and strengthen the role of local governments in regional development. The meeting follows the first edition held in Madrid in 2024, which resulted in the Madrid Declaration regarding sustainability, social inclusion, and innovation.
