Spain's Ibex 35 slides below 19,200 points as Brent oil hovers near $84

The Ibex 35 fell 0.72% to 19,165.8 points, slipping past the 19,200 level. The decline coincided with Brent crude trading around $84.5 a barrel and U.S. WTI at about $79. European markets also opened lower, with Frankfurt down 0.4%, Paris 0.6% and Milan 0.9%; the euro was priced at $1.145. The Spanish bond yield on the 10‑year note fell to 3.591%.

In corporate news, Spanish restaurant group Areas announced the acquisition of The Restaurant Group's UK airport concessions, adding 38 outlets and marking its entry into the British market.
