Ibex 35 opens flat amid Middle East tension, Fed decision and lone August dividend
The Ibex 35 opened Wednesday around 19,700 points, initially flat before slipping modestly. Traders were watchful of rising oil prices, with Brent above $87 a barrel and WTI over $82.2, and of the U.S. Federal Reserve’s interest‑rate decision later in the day.
Spanish companies reported mixed earnings: Endesa posted a €1.47 billion net profit for the first half, up 41%; Telefónica recorded a net loss of €338 million, 75% lower than the previous period; CaixaBank posted a record €3.203 billion profit, up 8.5%; and other firms such as Redeia and Aena also released results.
In dividend news, Logista is the only Ibex 35 constituent to declare an August 2026 payout, committing to €0.58 per share on 27 August, signalling stability for dividend‑focused investors.
