IBGE advances preparations for 12th Agricultural Census
The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) is advancing preparations for the 12th Agricultural, Forestry, and Aquaculture Census, scheduled for data collection in 2027. The selection process for temporary census takers will offer approximately 27,279 positions, requiring candidates to have a completed high school education.
Fundação Cesgranrio has been qualified to organize the selection process after presenting the lowest bid among nine competing institutions. However, the final contract depends on the foundation resolving pending issues with the Cadin (Informative Register of Unpaid Credits of the Federal Public Sector).
In the municipality of Taquara, local authorities have coordinated with IBGE to support the operation. The city will provide a collection post and training facilities at the Centro Educacional Índio Brasileiro Cezar. In the Taquara region, 25 vacancies are expected to be distributed across several municipalities, including Parobé, Rolante, Riozinho, Igrejinha, Três Coroas, Araricá, Nova Hartz, and Sapiranga. The census aims to provide essential statistics on food production and livestock to guide public policy and private investment.
