IBGE authorized to hire thousands of temporary workers in Brazil

The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) has received authorization to conduct two separate simplified selection processes for temporary staff.

One authorization allows for the hiring of up to 27,330 enumerators to support the Agricultural, Forestry, and Aquaculture Census. This recruitment is based on previous authorizations and aims to facilitate field data collection for these specific sectors.

A second authorization permits the hiring of 325 professionals for telephone-based statistical research. This includes 276 telephone research agents requiring a high school education and 49 telephone research supervisors requiring a higher education degree.

For both processes, the IBGE has up to six months from the publication of the official ordinances to release the opening notices (editais). These notices will detail specific rules, including salary, municipal distribution of roles, and registration methods.
