IBGE prepares 2027 Agricultural Census and enumerator recruitment
The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) is preparing for the 12th Agricultural, Forestry, and Aquaculture Census, scheduled for 2027. In Mato Grosso, the Cuiabá City Hall is collaborating with IBGE to facilitate the operation, which aims to map rural production across the country.
The census will visit all agricultural, forestry, and aquaculture establishments to update production diagnostics. This data will serve as a foundation for public policies regarding rural infrastructure, family farming, credit, agricultural insurance, storage, and production transport. New collection methods will be introduced, allowing producers to register contact details and receive links to complete questionnaires online.
In Mato Grosso, the schedule includes the release of an edict for census enumerators in October, an experimental census in Barra do Bugres in November, and the start of in-person data collection in June 2027. To support this massive operation, IBGE is preparing a selection process for 27,330 temporary enumerator positions. Historical data from previous exams suggests that technical knowledge, Portuguese, and Mathematics are key subjects for candidates preparing for these roles.
