Ibiza sector reports high spending during club season closures

The nightlife sector in Ibiza has concluded its 2026 season with significant economic activity during the October long weekend. According to José Luis Benítez, manager of the Asociación Ocio de Ibiza, the season closures saw over 50,000 attendances and an estimated 60 million euros in leisure consumption.

Industry estimates suggest individual spending at nightclubs ranged between 200 and 500 euros, while VIP areas saw expenditures between 2,000 and 20,000 euros. This represents a moderate 2% growth in attendance compared to the previous year, signaling a stabilization in volume after years of rapid increases.

Separately, technical professionals in the region are convening the first Technical Forum Ibiza 2026 to debate the island's carrying capacity. The forum aims to address whether a population ceiling is necessary for the territory, focusing on the impacts of resident and tourist growth on architecture, engineering, and construction.
